A result almost perfectly in line with expectation, and far closer than it appeared it would be when Canada collapsed in the first session. A fine fight-back, led by Osinde with the ball, and Bagai and Zurkari with th bat had them almost level with 9 wickets in hand. The unlikely bowling of Kevin O'Brien, well supported by Botha and some questionable decisions did for the Canadian middle order again. Victory still required a nerveless innings from White to get the last 59 runs with only 6 wickets remaining, but Ireland have pedigree in this competition, even if the decision of Scotland not to go to Zimbabwe seems to have ended any hope they had of making the final.
The perfect conclusion to a (short) league program with the side garnering the most points moving into the final against the UAE. Uganda have been dealt an additional difficulty having had the game moved to Namibia for security reasons, but they should still get a reasonable contingent of fans at the game against their closest regional rivals. The two bowling attacks are probably on a par, but Uganda's previous games have seen several marked collapses. If they can avoid them, it will be a tight contest, but I'd expect Namibia to qualify with a win.
